Did I see the score right in the Catholic vs OCS game? Max Preps has Catholic winning 27-9...It shows OCS going 1-3 this weekend. I thought OCS was supposed to be loaded - some folks had them in the top 2-3 teams in the state regardless of classification.
Thanks to both of you...appreciate the info.
Gymnastics Seating Questions
Posted by I-20Tiger on 2/1/16 at 8:28 am
For those of you who have experience with attending LSU gymnastics meets. The wife and I are taking our 6 year old daughters to our first Gymnastics meet on Friday. We have GA tickets - How early should we get there to get decent seats? Which are the best GA sections to sit in?
Thanks in advance.

I am thinking about coming for the weekend as well. For the experts, do you think Reserve Seating will be available day of the game? Or just General Admission? Any info on which seats are Reserved vs GA? I went to website where you can buy a packet of 6 GA tickets good for any game but can't tell where GA seats are at.
Appreciate any info.

I agree...I would have liked to see Poche come out to start the 8th inning with someone ready in the pen if he got in trouble. But once Bugg pitched the 8th, I would have stuck with him in the 9th.
Fist, I feel horrible for Belton. He is a great kid with lots of potential. Praying that he is able to come back and have a great Sr year next year.
Secondly, you can buy supplemental insurance through LHSAA, but very few people do. I am sure it will be covered through his family's insurance. But Dr. Andrews is no more expensive than any other Dr. & accepts most insurance companies. He isn't that difficult to get an appoitment with. He performed Labrum surgery on my son's shoulder a couple of years ago.

re: OT: Barbe baseball?

Who is Barbe's #1 pitcher? I am assuming Leger & Baldwin are there top 2, but wasn't sure who was considered their ace.
This years season is a combination of things..they lost a lot of SRs from last years team (including all of their pitching) & this year's SR class was basically non-existent (1 starter on this year's team was a SR). But the thing that I think has hurt them the most is that they have had a lot of good players leave WM in the last 3-4 years. Not sure who you blame that on but for whatever reason, a lot of kids have left. Burkhalter moved to Ruston, Heisler moved to Mangham, Slaughter moved to OCS. All 3 of those are very good players including 2 of the best pitchers in North LA. Everyone always talks about kids coming into WM (especially for football) - but we have lost our share as well.

Just to add a little more, it is not strictly based on ACT/SAT score. They calcute a AI ranking that also weighs GPA & Class rank (not sure about Class Rank - they used that in the past, but not sure if they do any longer).

26 or 27 makes the cut (if you are important enough to them). The Ivy League schools have what is called "bands" so they have a little freedom in bringing a couple of kids each year that aren't quite on the same level as others. I do know this, it is quite a shock for a kid going from LA to an Ivy League school from both an academic and a social perspective.
Is Baldwin a pitcher? Tall/rangy kid? If so, I saw him pitch a couple of times last year.

TigerAlum93,
Thanks for the reply. That is what I had suspected was the case, but just hadn't seen anything "official". I've got a son that has played against all of those guys multiple times throughout the years in Travel Ball and at Barbe & have always been impressed with all of them (both on & off the field). Good to see all of them moving on to the next level.

TigerAlum93, you seem to be in the know when it comes to Barbe athletics. I have a question regarding LSU & Fontenot. Was there ever any interest on Fontenot's part to play at LSU? Did LSU have any interest (offer) in Fontenot? Just curious why he is headed to OK State rather than LSU. I've seen him play several times throughout the years and would have loved to see him in Purple & Gold.

I think it's going to be a huge issue by the third game. They got a lucky draw with Shreve in round one. The only other teams within 4 hours of them in their half of the bracket are Airline (who probably won't make it deep enough to play them) and West Monroe. 8-12 hour round trips in back to back weeks will be hard on high school players.
I agree. Not to mention, they are looking at New Iberia in the 3rd round who has already beaten Barbe this year. Barbe & Parkway are very similar teams & I would expect New Iberia to match up very well. I don't see Parkway being able to go to New Iberia and win.
Don't think Parkway or Barbe will make it to the 5A finals - not because they aren't good enough, but due to both having the toughest path to get there. Barbe is looking at Ouachita, Acadiana, & Destrehan in consecutive weeks & Parkway is looking at traveling for 4 consecutive weeks. Just don't like either teams odds to pull that off.

Isn't the Acadiana vs Neville game being played in Shreveport (part of Battle on the Border)?
Now that I will have to see to believe
They may pass "a lot" by WM standards...but that doesn't mean they will pass a lot.
I know he wasn't at WM practice today...and if I was a WR, the last place I would transfer to would be WM...unless he likes to block a lot
