To MI - how much to take LM off our hands?
Posted by plok on 11/16/14 at 11:09 am
What do we have to do? Just name it. No amount of money is too small, no task too difficult. I'm beginning to feel as hopeless as KY, as if no matter who Les recruits as a player of Off Coord, its not going to matter. The buck stops with him. The worst day in LSU history is when Sabin left.
Waiting for LM to change is a fool's errant. If he didn't change after the national championship embarrassment against Bama, he's not going to change now. Maybe we can take up a donation and pay MI to hire him. If not, if we are stuck with him for 2 more years, history will repeat itself. Welcome to the gutter. What's so sad is that it could have been so much different. Think what LSU could have done for the last 7 years with just a competent QB and a creative Off Coord
re: Do you think Les actually changes Cam's calls 50% of the time?

Who responsible for hiring offensive coords? Miles has hired on incompetent coord after another. When will the powers that hired him finally see that they made a terrible mistake. If not for the defensive genius of John Chavis, we would have been a 5 or 6 lose team every year.
re: Why is it so difficult for LSU to develop a passing game?

We have been asking this question for the last 10 years, with the exception of Matt Flynn, who was a Saben recruit.
I don't know what the problem is but it is more than obvious to anyone with a brain that LSU QB has been poor for years. All the other pieces are in place - great defense and defense coordinator, good kicking game, good special teams, great running game. The only element missing is a competent QB, not necessarily a great one, just someone with smarts who can run the offense and pass effectively when needed. We could be in the hunt for a national champion every year but for one position. Every team that faces LSU knows that if you stop the run, you win.
THe buck stops with Miles. Until he changes his offensive strategy or leaves, LSU will not have another conference or national champion. It's as simple as that. Is he fundamentally incapable of changing, stubborn, or just doesn't really know what he is doing?
