[quote]I get frustrated with Les a number of times each season. Yes, he does need to evaluate his decisions over the past 5 years. Particularly those in the BCS game versus Bama and Arkansas this year. However, he is a class person and has represented LSU well. Regardless of the LSU fan base believing every coach will apply for the head coaching position. This will not be the case. Texas last year and Florida this year as real good examples. Give Les the respect that he's due. Make him feel appreciated and pray he improves his weaknesses. He does have strengths to build on.___________________________________________
AMEN TO THAT!
how about this last one vs. Ole Miss?? We needed a big win now more than ever to turn the momentum from dreadfully negative to super positive. Regardless of what happens from here on out (barring big blowouts from any of the remaining teams), our team and coaches showed that they are progressing well - while it won't necessarily win us a championship, it certainly changed everyone's perception that we are doomed to sink to the bottom of the SEC West for years to come! I'll take 2014 Ole Miss - check in with me after next weekend, and I'm hoping to give you an update!

agree that this is the singular (and most natural) thing for the coaches to include in the game plan next week that was limited in the Ole Miss game. I thought AJ managed a very nice game overall in spite of the two ill-advised passes - aside from what appeared to be open running room on an option play that he handed off to one of the RB's on a crucial 3rd down, he played great and used his mobility to make plays. His scramble/rushing yards were negligible (at best), which I thought would be critical to having any chance of winning that game. Who would've thought the running game would be as good as it was without that extra factor - it will be the biggest upside for the offense that should be available to improve upon vs. Bama.

Our beloved LSU athletic history would hold only a small fraction of its current and past glory with North LA not being a part of it. Being from Baton Rouge, you should know that the bastion of hatred against LSU actually resides much closer to your backyard - the ULL and Tulane contingencies in Lafayette and New Orleans.

You apparently don't know how to drive a car (or have the pocketbook) to venture outside your neighborhood to know that there are good-hearted, talented, and smart people (who love LSU) that actually exist in North LA and other parts of the world. In continually making these blatant broad-stroked comments about your fellow LA citizens, you simply show your pee-brained, colloquial self to be nothing more than an idiot.....it makes it much more difficult for me to continually defend your neck of the woods against people outside our state who believe South LA is the epitome of a "3rd world country" within the USA.

Did it ever occur to you that if there were a 3-pt. line, perhaps Pete might have taken a step or two back on a few of his shots to get the 3 instead of the 2? Or, instead of dropping off a tricky pass to a teammate, he takes even more 3-point attempts?? Or, if fouled while shooting the 3, gets 3 foul shots instead of 2 at the line?
Anything behind the UK 45 yd. line (which is where this ball ended up) would be considered "good". It's unrealistic to assume that UK would not have returned a regular kickoff to at least the 40 yd. line, AND the potential for an even longer return would've been in play. From an "odds" perspective, I thought the squib kick was a safer bet against a bigger return - it just happened to end up better than even planned.

Now, does that make us more or less concerned? Would you rather your qb suffer from nerves or fundamental issues?

Nerves and fundamentals go hand in hand sometimes - that's why a 3-foot putt at the US Open is not a "gimme" - the fundamentals are there, but they break down under pressure. Only experience helps - winning in a big game setting will help the most in getting over that hump - losing can make it worse, unless you have an extremely motivated, confident individual who relishes the idea of overcoming adversity. Sounds like Harris is that guy - I'm not giving up on Jennings either - both seem like competitive and positive young men.
I'm not in favor of censoring either.....this banner brings back fond memories of 1971 Homecoming vs. Bama......the DKE's had a long white banner draped across their front with a painting of a huge tampon doused in "red".....the scripting said....."Stop the Flow"!

I recall my mom and dad walking through fraternity row and viewing this - it was so stark and unbelievable, I'm not sure that my mom caught it...my dad, on the other hand, simply said "Honey, let's move along"!

Hilarious!
