Congress has the power of the purse. They and they alone have the power to tax. A tariff is a tax. It’s not that hard to understand. If he wants to embargo trade with the whole world, he has the power, but it’s his political funeral. He does not have the power to tax though.

I wouldn’t be opposed to having a special prosecutor assigned to investigate and prosecute anyone involved in any illegal activity regardless of the letter beside their name.

This simply isn’t true. The left has yet to storm the capitol and last I checked no one was thrown in a dungeon without due process. I’d be happy to read any legitimate sources that say otherwise.
ETA: I live in Shreveport. I am pissed that they’re potentially sending the guard here and I would have been pissed if Obama or Biden had done it. The military isn’t trained for policing. They’re trained to fight a war.

Why is anyone surprised they’re upset with a decisive Republican president sending federal agents and the national guard into blue states and cities. 90% of this board would be declaring a civil war if Obama or Biden had some the same.

Yeah, that’s not a thing. Congressmen are only eligible for federal retirement after 20 years of service just like every other federal employee.

It’s sad but it makes sense. She’d be incredibly high risk if she caught Covid after the transplant. How would you feel if a kidney that would have gone to you instead went to an anti vaxxer who died shortly after surgery because she caught Covid with a suppressed immune system?

It’s funny, I’ve been saying that the midterms would not be the red wave the republicans were expecting. I was a registered republican but I leaned pretty heavily libertarian. I ALWAYS voted republicans. After trump won the nomination I changed my registration to libertarian because I didn’t want to be associate with the trump republicans. When roe was overturned I went ahead and registered dem. I will probably be back to the republicans after they’ve regained their sanity, but not until then.
