Yes, Simms was one of, if not the, top recruit in the country. Committed to Tennessee in mid-December, then flipped to Texas a week before signing day. If he had never committed in the first place, Tennessee would have landed Ken Dorsey. Instead, Dorsey committed to Miami after Simms pledged to TN, then stayed committed once TN tried to get him to flip after losing Simms.
