Tennessee Suspends DB Kenneth George Jr. Following Recent Arrest

Tennesse head coach Jeremy Pruitt announced this week that defensive back Kenneth George Jr. has been suspended indefinitely after he was arrested for punching a police officer in Miami last week. Per Knox News:

George, a junior defensive back, faces two third-degree felony charges and two misdemeanor charges after Miami Beach police say he punched an officer last Thursday. Tennessee did not practice last week while the university was on spring break.

George has pleaded not guilty to the charges of battery of a police officer, resisting an officer with violence, resisting an officer without violence and disorderly conduct.

"He’s been suspended indefinitely from the team until we gather more information and let it run its course," Pruitt said. "We don’t tolerate behavior like that, and we’re going to support all law enforcement that we come in contact with. We want our kids to do the right thing. We’re going to respect the law. But at the same time, we’re going to support Kenneth through this, and we’ll see where it goes.”

George transferred into Tennessee from Trinity Valley Community College and appeared in four games last season.
