Shane Beamer Respond To Speculation Around Virginia Tech Job Opening

Virginia Tech announced the firing of head coach Brent Pry on Sunday following the Hokies' 0-3 start to the season.
South Carolina coach Shane Beamer, whose father coached at Virginia Tech for 29 years, was asked Sunday about some of the rumors that he could be a candidate to replace Pry.

quote:Beamer has coached at South Carolina since 2021 and has a 31–23 record through five seasons with the Gamecocks.
“I think the week of the Virginia Tech game, I told everyone how I feel about South Carolina and my love for this place,” he told reporters on his weekly teleconference on Sunday afternoon, via The State. “That’s where my focus is at right now, just getting our football team better.”
