But when the teams exited the locker room for the second half, Herrera returned to his spot on the sideline. The official urged him off the sideline, but Herrera — nicknamed “Piojo,” which means to the “The Louse” in English — only retreated as far as the Pulse memorial section of the stands.
Officials crowded the coach in the stands, but he refused to move to the locker room for his ejection. Herrera remained there for the rest of the game, at times wielding a walkie talkie to communicate with his staff.
