I am fully vaccinated and take proper precautions to keep myself healthy. Wearing a mask is not part of those precautions. It’s not about making a statement it’s about not being any more uncomfortable on the flight than I already am.
Last flight i wore a paper thin gaiter over my mouth, they waved me thru like I was wearing a hazmat suit

Go up to any American Airlines gate and say you need a mask. They have a plain white one that feels like just plain cotton that i use all the time and it’s pretty breathable.

I wear the one that I put under my nostrils so I can breath . Or since I like the window seat, I wear the one that rests under my chin as my face is turned to the side . Or if my face is forward I wear the one that is hanging on one ear because it takes me an hour to drink my coffee and another hour to eat my pretzels.
