Overall best by far - Borgo Santo Pietro in Tuscany

Nicest city hotel - Steigenberger Frankfurt

I've stayed there...it was great.

They had a great bar next to it called The Bar Below...but it has since closed down. I need to check to see if someone opened up a new bar in that space. I am a sucker for basement bars.

It's nice, for sure. My 16-year-old daughter enjoyed the Tonga Room when we went in 2018.

The most expensive hotel I've stayed in was the Fairmont Royal Pavilion in Barbados when the rate was $1249 per night.

Both of those Fairmont stays were courtesy of free nights via the old Chase Fairmont credit card, back before Accor bought Fairmont. I'm a schoolteacher and could never afford to pay for a hotel like that.
