Washington DC (Sites, Food & Bars)

Looking for off the beaten path sites and neighborhoods. Visiting for the weekend and staying with someone who has lived here for less than a year. We’re familiar with the typical museums and monuments and aren’t interested in that kind of stuff.
Also food and bar recs.

Are you talking things like the Exorcist steps in Georgetown? Or something like the Sonny Bono memorial plaque (it does exist?)
Neighborhoods most "tourists" do not go, but are pretty fun is Cleveland Park and H St corridor.
What type of food do you like? Drinks?

I always like to point this out if you haven’t done it and it’s quick. Have your friend take you on a quick ride up Embassy Row.
