viking river cruise Danuabe River

enjoyable, I would have liked to spend maybe one more day in Vienna and maybe one less day in Germany. The vessel is easy to get around, we chose a room with a small balcony so not to feel as confined. The tour excursions and things to do you can stay in your room as much or as little as you prefer.
I would do a variation of the trip in the future (different river) - there are so many options available as extending the trip on the front end or the back end. We met numerous couples that have toured with Viking on numerous occasions that they do a good job.

It’s was more relaxing by staying on ship, not dealing with luggage everyday and driving etc. it does remove your freedom and can limit your sightseeing. Most of the cities were interesting- I’d like to see more of Vienna.
Food was excellent and local

Honestly, viking-style river cruises are the only kind that interest me

I know Viking tends older, did you have any younger folks on your cruise (20s/30s couples)?

I like that route too if you are staying in the same place for awhile, 7 weeks is much longer than most. We did a home exchange in Kent England and then rented an Airbnb in London when I was there this past summer.

But I really like the appeal of only checking into one place, your time on vacation is limited and checking into 3-4 hotels, unpacking, traveling to and from, etc. adds up more than most will admit.

I'm extremely anti cruise, never been on one. But a cruise like this in Europe on a small boat where your only real time on the boat is eating breakfast and dinner and sleeping, appeals to me. It would be nice to go to bed and wake up in a different town, and never having to check in or out of a hotel every time.

except when you are going thru a lock on the river without warning. i thought i was having vertigo but it was the lock descent.
