Last summer, we stayed a couple extra days because for the same money as flying out on Saturday, we could fly out on Monday and pay for 2 nights at Grande Bay in Cruz Bay. We usually stay on the Coral Bay side. It was a nice different vibe to be able to wander over to the bars and restaurants. Found the largest concentration of seaglass on the shoreline right in front of there also.

And if anyone knows what Thomas at Our Market Smoothies actually puts in his Rum Runner, I'll buy drinks if I ever am on island with you. Our group went through 3 gallon jugs of that stuff last summer.

There’s only one resort on St. John. The Westin.

Yep, that's the one being looked into

I'd recommend staying in a private home but that's a personal preference. We did a chartered fishing trip with Just Fish and it was fantastic. Caught more tuna than we could keep! Also, the owner is originally from Galliano. We enjoyed Colombo's for breakfast. Skinny Legs has great lunch/dinner and a good atmosphere and is super casual. Greengos is a good Mexican restaurant. 1864 is a great place as well but is more fine dining. Food and drinks were great. St. John is definitely one of my favorite places to go. Wish I could speak on BVI but haven't made it there yet.

If anyone wants BVI information just ask. I've crawled around those islands several times.

That all sounds awesome

It's a balance to decide for sure on Westin vs. the private home. Some of the private homes seem awesome, but we might be essentially gifted a week at the Westin through a family time so that's hard to turn down.

This is where we stayed at in Peter Bay. It’s probably the oldest property in Peter Bay but the location and views are hard to beat. It was very nice to have the private beach access. There were a few days we would leave some of the more popular beaches because of crowds and it was really nice to go back to the private beach.

Whatever you do, don’t go to Coco Jim’s. Worst food and drinks on the island. Dolphin Market right outside the Westin has fried chicken and peas and rice for when you are tired of sandwiches on the beach.

It may have changed, but in the past, there were two types of Taxis - licensed and not. You can tell from the tags. YAW
