We were supposed to be getting in in about 2 hours but our first flight out of KEF was delayed like 6 hours. We have 45 min to get through customs... To catch our Minneapolis flight then from there to ATL. We are also on standby for directs to ATL.
It blows my mind that we have to go through Minneapolis to get to ATL.... On Delta.

Honestly at this point id hope for a misconnect due to the delay and try to rebook via the app. Anytime theres a delay delta's app is usually very good for rebooking and should give you all the options for jfk to atl. Sucks that yesterday was a nightmare for air traffic in nyc
Theres 3 nonstop jfk-atl flights today after youre supposed to land. Id be constantly checking to see if 2-3 seats open up.
Also, theres a travel waiver in effect for today so find the flights you want out of jfk and they can rebook you for free. Anywhere along the east coast would be an improvement for a connection instead of backtracking through msp

Displaced, do not go through MSP!!! 2016 is delayed an hr 42 min, you'll absolutely miss the connection in minneapolis if you stay on your flights. Also almost all flights MSP - ATL tomorrow are sold out until noon so no point in hanging out there unless you want to. Ask nicely at JFK if they can put you on 2689 in first class, it's the 9:10pm JFK to ATL departure (I see two seats left)
Also, now that you're in the US try to use the app and see what options are open. If you have to see about making the trek over to Laguardia or Newark to get home tonight. Flight 1989 out of LGA (9pm) looks to have at least 1 or 2 seats and also flight 466 (7pm out of LGA) has 2 seats

Thank you for all the help. Our original jfk-atl was delayed 4 hours too. We are at the gate right now with 50 minutes to spare.

Chattanooga. We typically fly out of cha, but delays on our outbound flight caused us to just drive to atl.
