Hi, me and my buddy (both 26) are looking to spend 2 weeks in Colombia around July 4. Want to know if anyone has traveled there and has any suggestions. We’re both two overworked (f you EY) guys and would like to let off some steam and do a bunch of fun stuff

Fun country. Nice people. Beautiful women. Relatively safe, always safer with someone else. I felt a little uncomfortable at night in some areas being solo. Learn some basic Spanish, because very few people speak any English.

I went with a 3 friends in November 2020. Things were a little limited due to covid but not fully locked down.
We flew in to Bogota, spent 3 nights there, then flew to Cartagena for 3 nights, then flew to Medellin for 4 nights and then back to Bogota for a night for an early departure from Bogota.
I'd skip Bogota if did it again and definitely do Cartagena and Medellin again.
I was surprised at how little English was spoken so we made use of Google translate app on phone to type messages back and forth for communication.
If going to Cartagena, definitely try to stay in the walled city. We took a boat ride down to the islands and had a fun party day.
In Medellin, we did a day excursion to Guatape and El Penol which was really cool.
Parts of Bogota are only time I felt unsafe at all. Definitely more scary to be walking in the French quarter these days than anywhere I explored in Colombia.
