Traveling to Costa Rica in a couple weeks

The better half and I will be spending a week in Costa Rica. Half the trip will be in Tamarindo where we have a fishing trip chartered. The second half will be in Arenal where have white water rafting, zip lining, and a horseback trip to La Fortuna.
Any tips on restaurants good or bad would be appreciated. Also any other general advice for the trip is welcome. We have a few free days to explore on our own.
TIA

From Tamarindo you could explore south. The bottom of that peninsula is outrageously gorgeous. The waterfalls outside of a Montezuma are worth the trip alone, but hiking in Cabo Blanco is great too. Far though.

Do some repelling while you're there and get some "typical food" from any building that looks like it might collapse and you won't be disappointed

Stayed in La Fortuna for 4 days in October. Loved it. I yelped and googled places to eat and was never disappointed. Lots of fresh ingredients and daily specials.
