My wife is traveling to Canada for a few days this week for work purposes. Our AT&T plan allows for a “day pass” for use of talk, text, and data.

Any experience with this and how best to utilize it while she is there? My understanding is that she can use her phone like normal while there but I don’t want to hit any traps.

Used it in Vancouver last year with no issues. I keep it on my plan now for future international travel. Unlike their previous discounted international packages that charged you monthly, it only charges you each day you use it out of the country. My wife has it on her phone and has used it for work in South Korea, France, the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium.

ETA: for all the international trips, it has used the standard package that we subscribe to plus the $10 per day. There are some countries that are excluded from the day pass.

Haven’t used international day pass in Canada, but I’ve used it in the UK, Ireland and Japan and it worked well. Just make sure that you actually have AT&T put it on your plan before you just arrive in Canada and turn on your roaming.
