Transportation around Hilton Head and Savannah?

I was about to book a rental car for 5 days, but at the rate ($650) I think I'll Uber. Is this the best plan? We will be in Hilton Head for 4 days and Savannah for 1.

Depending on what you want to do on Hilton Head, look into bike rentals. We stayed 5 or 6 nights and might have used our car 2 times. It is designed around bikers and pedestrians. Can’t speak for Savannah.

You don’t need a car in Savannah if you’re staying near the river/historic district. It’s very walkable.

Savannah has a hop-on/off trolley. Best way to get around historic area and riverfront.
