My family is looking to go this winter as well. Looking at the week between winter break and Christmas (December 18- 24). I'm sure it will be on of the busiest weeks of the year, so crowd sizes are one of the biggest factors for us.
We have 2 kids, 10 & 8 who have never skied before, and my wife is a beginner as well. I am a "light" intermediate.
Looking for a couple days of family activities- tubing, sledding, snowmobiling- and a day or 2 of skiing for me and the wife while the kids take lessons.
Looking at Winter Park, Keystone, or Park City. Main concern is crowd size first, then ski schools. Any thoughts??

I'm not gonna offer a suggestion as I think for a beginner they are all pretty much the same but I will say you need to know your budget before you start looking at places. A week in Aspen/Vail/BC will cost twice as much as a comparable week in Breck/Copper/Keystone.

I don't have anything to compare it to since it was my first time to ever go snow skiing but our family had a great time in Keystone back in February.

Big Sky. Huge mountain with a lot of variety, a lot of intermediate runs. Plus very minimal lift lines and good snow.

Keystone has very few beginner runs. Breckenridge has a section of very flat, long greens which are great for first timers. I believe winter park has a kids ski free program with an adult ticket of so many days.

Steamboat has the most olympians from the US I believe at their ski school and ski program.
