We just booked a house on the beach just outside of this little Mexican town on the west coast northwest of Puerto Vallarta.

We were going to do Isla Mujeres again but wife wanted to try something different so here we are.

Anybody ever been? Any recommendations? We're going in December.

I went right before Covid. Incredible. one of the best trips i've ever had. Really cool town with jaw dropping scenery, and a great beginner surf town to boot. Perfectly safe, great food, not over touristed (it's the right kind of tourists), music playing everywhere. you won't be disappointed. You can't go wrong no matter what you do there, just get a golf cart and drive around and explore, but definitely try to surf while you're there if the water isn't too cold.

Normally I recommend asking these questions before you book

We're going with my wife's sister and her significant other.

Sister-in-law has friends who have been and it was highly recommended. So that's why we booked there.

Now just wondering what to do

Looks like there might be a couple golf courses in the area I could hit up

I was there about 15 yrs ago. Great trip. We stayed just north of town in a house nestled in the forest high on a hill overlooking the ocean. Had one of the best meals of my life at a Mayan restaurant. It was some sort of red chili stew called a lava bowl. Dont remember the name of the restaurant but it was amazing.
