That was probably our one complaint on RR. Stayed in an Airbnb (which was always do when we travel for the most part) and the selection in RR was a little lacking. Now… we left booking up to a friend but compared to houses in Angelfire (we go there in summer for downhill mountain biking) and Santa Fe, Red River didn’t have great houses from what we saw. We ended up in basically a double wide that slept 14 because we had a big group.

Yeah, it can definitely be an issue. Angelfire is just so different because they do have the resort, but the town itself sucks. Red River is growing and I'm on the fence with how I feel about it (lol). On one hand, I like the new things that are coming to town, but then I also don't like a whole bunch of people finding out about this little secret.

There are some house in the upper valley of RR but, again, it can be an issue in the winter as the UV can get pummeled, while RR just gets some decent snow, thus making the trip in for dinner a grind.

Here's a pic of Red River from this AM.

Might give you an idea of the size...

It blows my mind how bad the food and drink options are in Angelfire. Just horrible. Thankfully their grocery store is surprisingly good (especially for its size) if expensive.

As I said, we were very pleasantly surprised with the “scene” in RR by comparison. Now if they just ran some lift access mountain biking in the summertime.., (with all the ATV options in RR during summer, you could probably build some sick backcountry descents to access via ATV), we could go there instead of AF.
