Do they use the same electrical outlets as we use. I know it's stupid. Just making sure...

We went in 2004 to Couples Negril. They had same outlets as America.

Yes. May want to take a 3-2 prong adapter, though, if you have a laptop that needs a 3 prong outlet. Some places may just have 2 prong outlets.

There are no stupid questions about Jamaica, only some stupid answers.

Stunning natural beauty, I'll give it that.

Have fun, stay safe and unmolested.

Be prepared for every one to ask you for money. I mean everyone.

My experience was exactly the opposite. Once I got away from the traditional tourist areas, then people weren't nearly as annoying. Negril, Ocho Rios, Mo Bay and the other traditional tourist areas have populations that have learned to be parasitical with tourists. Go down to the south coast to somewhere like Treasure Beach, and they have self-sustaining populations that don't depend on tourist dollars.. so they don't have the constant hasslers.

That being said, those areas also don't have the infrastructure and niceties of Negril or Mo Bay.. they're pretty rustic but no more so than the countryside of Costa Rica or somewhere like that.
