Headed there for a quick 3 day trip. Just me and the little fella.
He’s an avid skier even at 9 years. Will ski some easy blacks with me and all blues
First time there. Any good recommendations for good trails and good eats?

Spend all day on the Tomahawk run and the laterals coming off it.

Truffle Pig is good for apres ski if you’re with a kiddo.

If you're looking for quality blue slopes, your best bet is the top of the mountain coming down "Tomahawk". Also the blue slope right under the gondola is called "Heavenly Daze" and its one of the more difficult blues, feels closer to a black.

I'f you're going for views and a really scenic and fun ski, start with some greens at the top and ski through some Aspen trees(not as difficult as it sounds). Then when u get down to the gondola level, I usually would ski down "Why Not", it's got some good views, its really long and windey and has a lot of cool little short cuts carved out by other skiers along the whole trail. It's been 8 years since I've been there but I'd assume it's pretty much the same.

Love that mountain. See Me is a nice black. Westside and Rolex are good ones as well.

Steep but not too many moguls. Storm Peak is another good one if the weather is ok. Otherwise it will be wind blown.

Go eat at slope side at the base of the mountain. Awesome food.
A good steak and food in general is mahogany ridge and laundry restaurant.

Tomahawk is really more of a green than a blue, I find it to be a little too flat and long. The other blues around there are decent. The trees between those runs can be really fun however. If you're not comfortable with tree skiing then it is a great place to try it out. If you like it then head left off the top of Sundown lift and go into closets and shadows for some great trees.

A good run to mix in blues and blacks is take the Storm Peak lift and go down Buddy's Run to Calf Roper, then head down Cyclone which is a nice easy black run.

Slopeside grill has a legit brick pizza oven and serves quality food.

And the outside run coming down the mountain will have you ski right by some multi million dollar mountain side homes

Don’t over complicate it with this guy and his little kiddo, let them look at the trail map colors....keep it easy on them. Tomahawk is like a real life roller coaster lots of hills and you can haul arse, that nine-year-old kid is going to love it!!

Top of mountain, runs coming off tomahawk face are pretty good and long. One o clock and 2 o clock are very fun runs. High noon is good as well as fritz I think. Make your way to the sunrise (?) lift to get to most of these. Morning side is great skiing too if the crowd isn’t bad. The lift lines can get long and slow though. Careful with heavenly daze as it’s a popular run at the end of the day and can get icy and very crowded with not so good skiers. Just got back from boat Monday (it was -12 that morning btw) but they’ve gotten some serious snow the past couple of days so y’all should have a lot of fun. There’s a good little Mexican place to the right of the main base area if you’re looking down from the mountain.
