I don’t think that’s correct for day trips.

Where did y’all stay in St Croix?

We stayed at a house off of shoys beach near the buccaneer hotel.

Our area was nice, but it’s like every other island until you get to where you are staying….somewhat like a bomb went off a decade ago and nobody cleaned anything up. Also tons of wild chickens. I’ve been to several islands in the Caribbean and had never seen so many

We had a great trip though.

Here are a couple of photos I took. Just some that had nobody you could identify in it.

House was booked through Inspirato. It’s a membership thing.

Can’t find any other rental listings for the property outside of the place being for sale.

We did cabanas at the buccaneer hotel one day and wish we would have done it again. Great beach and very nice crowd and employees.

Aside from that we mostly enjoyed the house and our beach there. We did spent two afternoons in Christenedad or whatever it’s called and did some bar hopping/shopping.

We also ate at two great restaurants. The Galleon and Savant. Did in house chef a few nights and also grilled And snacked the other days.

There is a casino there apparently but we didn’t go.

I might not be the best for activities lol, my group likes to go places and drink more than any kind of excursion besides whatever main Instagram attraction a spouse needs

Keep your head on a swivel on St. Croix. I’m sure the tourist areas are ok, but the island has a higher murder rate than any nation in the world.

Yes, our concierge told us to not venture out of a few areas if we could avoid it.

Savant

Oh, am I jealous. Savant was our favorite restaurant on the island.

We felt safe everywhere we went on St. Croix but at the advice of locals we did not go to Fredericksted after the sun went down.

There is a “customs” in the airport at St Thomas which is confusing because you can fly there and never leave the island and still have to go through it. We went to BVI for a week and had to clear customs in St John to return but even when we got to the airport in St Thomas we had to go through the customs line. Since we had already cleared we didn’t even show passports. Just license and boarding pass and answered no to their questions. It’s more about bringing fruit or plants across islands than it is normal customs.

The line at st Thomas this past Sunday was about 30-40 min long to get through security. I will say that almost everyone felt or looked sick to me. People coughing all over each other and the terminal was packed.

Of course! They have a two bedroom and two 1 bedroom units that are available for rent. All in the same house. 2 bedroom is on the main level and the two 1 bedrooms are on the upper level. Nigel and Karen live in the lower level. Great people.

For those interested, the BVI is dropping its negative test requirement to enter, effective tomorrow.

Great news!! We're heading to Jost on Sunday. No test!!

The other good news is that this means day tripping to White Bay will be wide open now so there will be a different party every day on White Bay starting next week.

I believe the testing requirement for those staying less than 24 hours had already been lifted. However, the BVI requirements for foreign based charter companies is so onerous that only a couple of day trip charters have even gone through the process to do so.
