Heading to Death Valley tomorrow, and was looking for some great spots to visit. I’m going to hit up Zabriskie Point and Badwater Basin, but what are some other great places to visit?

I would say Scotty’s Castle, but I know it was closed last year because of floods. Beatty is a neat little town to drive through. The park is huge. Go to Rhyolite.

Dante's View and Artist's Palate. When you are walking up to AP look to your left and you will see the canyon from Star Wars where the droids were ambushed

Damn. Beat me to it. But NEZ is where it’s at.

There is a makeshift memorial to the U2 Joshua Tree (album cover) somewhere out there. Bunch of memorabilia piled up next to the dead tree in middle of desert.

If you have an off-road vehicle or can gain access to one, consider making the trek out to the Racetrack Playa. One of the coolest places we went to in our visit to Death Valley.
It’s a slow-go getting there and back, but it’s worth the time and effort to see the rocks that move by themselves and to see the trails they leave behind. Some of my favorite pictures of that trip are the ones I took of my boys on The Grandstand in the middle of the playa.

Devil's Golf Course & Dante's View are both very cool. Badwater Basin too.
