Going to be in OS later this summer. We have spent time there over the years, but usually just for a weekend. This will be a longer stay. Anyone have suggestions for food, shopping, activities that we may not be aware of? Our last visit there was in 2021.

Watch out for water quality advisories. Just saw some posted for that area.

We're going to Ocean Springs in a couple weeks.
We're eating at Fields Italian, Catch 110 in Biloxi, Lady May for brunch, couple others. I'll report back.
Last year, we ate Anthony's Under the Oaks for our steak night. It was really good, but we've got a bigger crowd this year so going to cook steaks at the VRBO this year. We ate at Catch 110 last year and it was really good. Interested to see if it holds up as it gets older. I think it opened in 2024.
The downtown has solid shopping options. We own a downtown business where we live, so we gravitate to those districts to see what they've got.
Complete side note: The MS Coast has grown on me. I worked a couple summers in college down there dealing with Katrina clean up, and made it my goal to get my degree and a job to afford much better than those towns for vacations.
Now I have that, and we've backed off of the week long FL Panhandle vacations, and we'll go somewhere out of the country for 4 days (Belize this year), and then hit the MS Coast for a long weekend for not much difference money wise. I've grown to enjoy the slower pace, better costs, and less crowded golf courses and downtowns that those spots have to offer.

Thank you for your volunteer work post-Katrina, prostyleoffensetime. I’ve spent enough time on the MS Gulf Coast since then to know how much the service given by the volunteers meant then, and still means to them.
Of the restaurants you mentioned, Anthony’s is the only one we are familiar with. From my research, it looks like there’s been a bit of growth, and perhaps turnover, since our last long visit.
This will be a special-occasion trip. In the past, we’ve spent it on the FL panhandle, but for various reasons that doesn’t work for us this year. I enjoy Ocean Springs for its art-centric personality, but also for the maritime connection. (A college friend’s family were boat-builders there.) We hope to enjoy cycling, kayaking, and fishing while there, in addition to the pastimes I mentioned above. I look forward to your trip report!

Oh I wasn’t a volunteer. We had contracts with the school districts shuffling temporary classrooms as the schools were being rebuilt.
I was making good money for a college kid. Grinded for 3 months down there and I could almost make it through the whole school year without asking my parents for money.
