Need recommendations for downtown area for late summer. Want nice, safe location.

Springhill Suites on Montgomery is nice and much less expensive than the places a couple of blocks closer to the River front. They also have Valet and an on site parking garage or self park at the municipal lot right next door.

Westin Resort. Nicest hotel in town. Right across the river, but there is a ferry about every 30 minutes (they also have a free shuttle van from the hotel).
Great pool area if you have kids.

Marshall House is a historic inn in the middle of historic downtown.
Cottonsail has insane river view and is really nice.
Bohemian is very similar.
JW Marriott Plant Riverside is pretty much the new highlight of River Street. It’s a whole section that has restaurants and shopping as well as the hotel itself.
