Heading to Savannah in 2 weeks as well, literally every person I talked to has said Olde Pink House for dinner.
We are also going to The Pirates' House for lunch one day cuz it looks really cool, and have booked a boat tour to Tybee Island to see dolphins and the lighthouse.

In Charleston, get dessert either at Carmella's on East Bay or Kaminsky's on North Market. Fleet Landing has great waterfront views and pretty good food. We were a bit disappointed in their shrimp and grits though. Go across the bridge to Mt. Pleasant and eat at one of the places along Shem Creek. We really liked The Wreck of the Richard and Charlene, but it can get crowded fast, and has a small seating area.
I would say skip the downtown carriage rides and just explore on foot. You can get free walking tour maps from several different organizations or just find one on your phone.

In Savannah, my favorite restaurant is the Old Pink House.
Charleston has a lot of excellent restaurants.

The Peninsula Grill

The Vendue is a nice hotel.
