What sort of weather should I be expecting for the second half of October? 2-days in Rome, 5-days in Amalfi, 2-days in Florence.

Going during the same exact time. Would love some advice for those who have been during the fall.

Friends went last October and said the weather was pleasant.

You can Google the historical weather and it will give you the averages.

Pleasant--think a New Orleans fall on the cool side. Warm days, slightly cooler evenings....definitely not cold. But the Italians start dressing for winter anyway, and the scarves and tall boots come out in October no matter what the weather. Also, they don't swim in the ocean, generally speaking, in the fall even when the weather is warm.

I'm going late November. Everything I've read has the weather turning at some point in that month

Sorry to hijack, but does anyone have any experiences with late September in the Amalfi and Tuscany.

Thinking about a honeymoon there next year. TIA!

I will in about a month and a half. Leaving for Italy on September 12 and those two regions are part of the trip.

We did the same trip, but in late September. Rome was warm-hot but Florence was perfect temperature (think New Orleans 68). Almafi was a wonderful temp, but the waters were chilly. I swam, but certain beaches were much colder than others. For example, the famous Firodo di Furore beach only gets a few sunlight hours a day and was very cold. Same with Praiano beaches. The best were Positano, but my husband thought it was too cold to swim too. To each their own.
