Any suggestions driving (or could fly with miles)
Was looking at Pearl Hotel in Rosemary but I would need about 4 more jobs to afford a weekend stay there

Where are you originating from? There are several places here in Texas I could recommend if that's within your travel parameters.

Traveling from Metairie. Really looking more toward spa type stay at either gulf coast place or foothills of Appalachians. Like I said, checked on that Pearl in Rosemary but it’s about $1,300/night for weekends until mid September

This is probably the best option. It's a nice property and isn't as stupid as expensive as the Pearl.

Fairhope is a very close little town that has some great dining if you get tired of the resort related dining at the Grand.

So we've been there and did like it, but think we'd prefer beachfront type place - preferably something more like a hotel or condo complex for the on-site amenities rather than renting a house.

Not sure if that's possible with the budget I have in mind

How about the Water Color Inn or Henderson Park Inn in that area of Florida?

Hell with pricing these days for now maybe settle for the Hilton Resort at Pensacola Beach. LOL

There are probably some cheaper options on the East coast, but I’m not all that familiar with that area.

There used to be a non stop to San Juan but not sure if it’s there anymore.

If you can take an extra day off, Vieques/Culbera in Puerto Rico are awesome beaches and cheap(at least 5 years ago were).

I think you are going to have a very tough time finding something to meet all your wants and budget in such short notice. Most of the best places are also not going to rent out for just a weekend which leaves your options as hotels/resorts and they are super expensive right now during peak season.

Chicago is a pretty easy trip from New Orleans. Flights to Chicago from MSY where recently $89 each way. Don’t need a car and can just take the L train from midway into downtown. Great collection of hotels and restaurants within the loop. Do an architectural boat tour. Could definitely do a Friday morning flight and Sunday afternoon return, nice hotel, couple nice dinners for under $2,000.

Check out the J.W. Marriott Resort in the hill country north of San Antonio.

Don Cezar in St Pete. Very nice spa, cool old hotel on a nice beach with big city amenities nearby.
