Recommended Rental Car Companies

Just wanting some personal opinions from you guys. Never rented a car. Need a car for 3 guys from Reno Tahoe airport to South Lake Tahoe. Around an hr drive, probably be snowing as well, going in January.

I left Hertz for National. Can't go wrong wither either. I prefer National because of the emerald isle. I rent a car weekly with them.

Rented a car last month....
Shopped all of the cheap sites and even the regular ones... call the companies! They give you a better rate than what you see online.
It was atleast $150 cheaper than what I was seeing online vs when I called and spoke with someone.
I use enterprise for work so looked into that route and when I called I couldnt pass up the price I heard. Win/win!
Everyone wants to avoid the phone nowadays and only do online, but over the phone is the way to go.

If you don't rent frequently, I would stick with the major companies. I prefer National because I travel a lot for work and they have Emerald Aisle.
I would stay away from the smaller companies. I went to Colorado earlier this year and the 4 wheel drive went out in the snow and National met me and swapped out a new Tahoe within an hour.

If you have a Costco membership, you can login to the Costco site and book a reservation for Enterprise (and I’ll assume others) that gets you a pretty good deal.
