Making my second trip to Vegas labor day weekend for the LSU game. My first trip was when things were still kind of shut down for Covid so none of the shows were playing.

I see there are a couple different Cirque de soleil shows. One called Mystery at Treasure Island and one called KA by Cirque de soleil at MGM grand. Are there any differences between the shows?

The other one I was looking at was Awakening at the Wynn.

Anyone seen those, or have any other recommendations?

Absinthe at Caesar’s is the best show on the Strip. Heads up: It’s very R rated.

Atomic Saloon, its cousin at The Venetian, is fun, too.

Of the Cirque shows: Ka and Michael Jackson One (Mandalay Bay) are my faves.

Saw it recently and it was very entertaining. Pro tip: Don’t sit in the first couple of rows unless you enjoy some abuse.

Some friends of mine are going to the Shanya Twain concert that weekend in Vegas. I did not get tickets with them yet.

We thought about doing this, but we saw her a few years ago in New Orleans. Would rather do something we can only see there.

I looked at Absinthe and it was like $300 a ticket before BS fees. Seemed a little excessive to me. How long does the Michael Jackson cirque show last?

Also, Mandalay ticket prices vary widely in many different parts of the theatre. Are there any bad seats at Mandalay?

Absinthe is a small venue. Last I looked, you can get seats around $149 ea. Not sure where you’re looking. You can buy direct from the Spiegelworld site or Ticketmaster.

Spiegelworld

Join MGM Rewards. It’s free. You can get 30% off any Cirque show in any venue. We got tickets for MJ One, O, and Ka in the 100s house left on the aisle. They were great.

Most Cirque auditoriums are laid out so there’s not a bad seat in the house.

MGM Rewards has an app you can download. Caesar’s Rewards is also free. They may offer discounts to Absinthe.

We got 50% off Atomic Saloon by joining Venetian’s Grazie Rewards. Also Free.

I have not seen Absinthe but have seen several others. One that is pretty cool that you may be late to book is The Magicians Study. You would have to go look if tickets are still available. It is a small room with an up close magic show. I am no magic show fan, but the sleight of hand of this guy is damn good and up close. I recommend it for anyone, but you have to book far in advance since it sells out fast.

Mj is about an hour and a half
It goes thru pretty much his whole catalog or all the hits
We sat close to the top cheaper tickets and it was fine
It’s a pretty big theater
I imagine it’s better closer you sit

The Beatles love one is more intimate but mj was better overall
