Prague Hotel Rec

Heading to Prague as the first stop of a multi City trip in central Europe. Anyone have any hotel recommendations? Looking for something in preferably in Old Town that's reasonably priced.

Yes.
I have the perfect place. We stayed there last year.
Hotel Augustine.
It is in a building that was a 12 th century monastery and in fact is still a working monastery with a few monks still living there. They don’t need the whole complex anymore and turned a portion of it over to Marriott which converted it into a nice hotel.
Very atmospheric place with an excellent restaurant.
The bar is the monks’ old beer hall It has been fancied up but the original frescoes are still on the ceiling.
It is in a perfect location in Old Town right around the corner from the Charles Bridge.
I ETA I guess technically the 500 year old Old Town is the new Old Town on the other side of the bridge. The Augustine is in the Old Old Town which is much older than that.

We stayed there the year before last. If ever we get back to Prague, that's where we'll be. Fantastic hotel.

Been to Prague 3 times. Of the places we stayed, I'd highly recommend:
Hotel Pod Veží.
The hotel was lovely. Perfect location, at the Charles Bridge, within walking distance of old town, as well as the palace and cathedral in lesser town. Rooms were large and comfortable. The staff were very helpful with our luggage and assisting with tour arrangements. The food in the restaurant was very tasty.
A second, good one was Moods Charles Bridge.
Highly recommended as well! The hotel is very well maintained, super clean, and the people who work there are super attentive. Spacious rooms, large bathroom with a very comfortable shower, a varied and complete breakfast in a very pleasant atmosphere, we chose it for its location and the truth is that it is very good! I would recommend it without a doubt.

Pod Vezi is another good choice. It is right around the corner from our Hotel Augustine.
On our last night in Prague we had dinner at the Pod Vezi restaurant. It was a beautiful night and we sat outside on the terrace at the base of the Charles Bridge.
By the way, our favorite restaurant in Prague is Restaurant Kampa Park. It’s on a small island in the Moldau River under the Charles Bridge. You get there by walking on the bridge and down a set of steps.
The food is delicious and the atmosphere is even better. The walls are glass windows with views of the bridge and ancient buildings illuminated at night.

Awesome! Thank yall for the recommendations. We are excited for the trip. Heading to Vienna and Budapest after Prague to get a European Capital city hat trick.

If you have some time in Prague, there’s a book by Dan Brown called The Secret of Secrets.
Yes, it’s fiction and maybe some might find it a bit hokey but it is a page-turner and something fun to read before you visit Prague.

If you are a cocktail aficionado I highly recommend a stop in Hemingway’s Bar (Old Town). Reservations likely needed, but phenomenal spirit knowledge and atmosphere.

That book is to Prague what The Da Vinci Code was to Paris and what Angles and Demons was to Rome.
I read it right after I got back from Prague. It added to my enjoyment that I could picture exactly where most of the events in the book took place. In fact, towards the end of the book (page 602 of the hardcover edition) a scene takes place at the Hotel Augustine I recommended above.which was the 13th century monastery. Part of the building is still a working monastery and part is now a hotel.

Was there last week; Andaz (Hyatt) was pretty nice.
Just know that all of the hotels in Europe that say they have AC ar full of shite. Ask front desk for fan when you get there. The restaurant was great as well.
Speaking of good restaurants we went to Mlynec by the St Charles bridge and it was incredible.
