Flying from Reno to Vegas on Southwest 12/29 - 1/1. Gf is flying NOLA to Vegas on 12/29 on Southwest to meet me and then flying back with me to Reno on 1/1. Everything is Southwest. Not really worried about my flight as I can get a Spirit or Allegiant flight cheap if I have to, main concern is hers. There really aren't any options besides a Frontier flight on 12/30 for about $200 before bag fees. What should I do for hers? Hope her original SW flight works or just cancel everything and look for a different NYE destination? I would have to cancel the hotel by this afternoon.
ETA: My flight to from Reno just got cancelled.

Southwest has announced that they will reimburse expenses incurred due to delays/cancellations between 12/24-1/2 stating

Yeah I got new flights booked with different airlines. Just waiting on the official cancellation notifications from Southwest so I can get the ball rolling on refunds and reimbursement.

So just trying to catch up. You think your flights cancelled but you're not sure yet since the app still shows it's going? Sounds like you already rebooked so that's good. Did you need to rebook the Nola flights or is that taken care of as well?

I got all new flights booked for RNO and MSY, I got a text this morning saying my RNO-LAS SW flight was cancelled but it still shows as scheduled on the app. GF's flight hasn't been cancelled yet but the flight before that the plane she will be on (IAH-MSY) has been cancelled so Im assuming hers will be as well. As soon as I get confirmations of both being cancelled gonna submit receipts and request refunds.

As they should. They have skated by for years on antiquated systems. Hopefully this is the kick in the pants they need to bring that airline into the 21st century.
