As the subject states, I am looking for recommendations for a cabin for an off the grid type getaway. Out there somewhere nice, maybe with canoeing and stuff like that. Any suggestions??
TIA

go to SE OK (Broken Bow area) or SW Arky (Mena area)
plenty of cabin options on Airbnb

Drive a little further into Arkansas. Lake Greeson, Lake Degray, or Lake Hamilton. I think it only took us 2 hours from Shreveport to Greeson. You can find cabins to rent on all of them. I wouldn't expect them to be luxurious, but good enough accommodations and a beautiful area. With all the watersports and fishing you could want.

I've got an old barn near Plain Dealing a short walk from Bodcau creek that I'll rent out for a great price. Very rural farm chic interior, no utilities.

Shady Lake area is my favorite. Less crowded, more secluded.

I'm not sure if you're into hiking and it will probably be really hot but there are a lot of great trails in that area. I've done part of the Foran Gap trail that's just north of Mena. You could hike it all the way to Oklahoma if desired.

I would drive a little north to Hot Springs/Lake Ouchitou (sp) and get a cabin out there.
