New Orleans-Sugar Bowl

I'll be visiting New Orleans for the second time for the Sugar Bowl (12/29-1/2) and would like food & drink recommendations. Maybe a day trip to a state or national park. You guys were very helpful my last trip. Last time I was able to do Arnaud's, Peche, Erin Rose, Casemento's, Galatoire's, and Central Grocery. We also did Frenchmen St. We were there during Easter and the parades were fun.
From searching this thread I have a list of some potential spots to visit this time around: WWII Museum, Commander's Palace, Cochon, Shaya, Bevi Seafood, Ye Olde College Inn. Any additional recommendations?
We love Abitita Brewing (and beer in general) here in North Carolina. Is it worth calling an Uber to visit the facility about 45 minutes away? Any good breweries in New Orleans?
How about outdoor activities like parks or plantations?
Thanks!

Yes some fairly solid ones. Courtyard Brewery and NOLA Brewing would be two I recommend.

I was in NOLA last week with some friends. We had a car one day and drove to Covington. My friends were all pumped to see the world’s largest statue of Ronald Reagan. Odd because they’re all big lefties. Anyway , stopped at the Abita tap room for some beers and although they didn’t offer tours the day of the week we were there I can’t imagine it’d be worth your while to Uber it there. I did get to do some stuff I hadn’t done in the past and I’d recommend checkIng out NOMA and especially the sculpture garden. Really cool. My friend had her birthday dinner at Compère Lapin and it was fantastic. Killer Poboys in the Quarter was good. Ate at Stanley again for breakfast which is excellent. I went to Verti Marte 3 times for sandwiches. I think I’m going back in May.

Abita, no don't waste your time. Go to Nola and Urban South.

Look up NOLA brew bus for about 50$ a person they will take you there and back. Deffinately do College Inn and then walk over to rock n bowl.

I wouldn't drive to go visit Abita. Stay in the city and hit up Nola Brewery, Courtyard, Port Orleans and others.
If you like beer, visit the Avenue Pub as it's one of the best beer bars in the southeast.
If you go later in the day, you can sit outside on the upstairs deck and watch the street cars go by while drinking.
It's worth a quick visit to City Park if you haven't been in a while. There is a Morning Call there now that has great beignets and cafe au lait. Right across from that is the outdoor sculpture garden that is free.
I don't think many of the state parks, etc are worth it.
Jean Lafitte National Park is pretty close by and worth the visit. The walking trail will take you out a ways and you will most likely see Alligators.

Urban South was good as well as Port Orleans. Really like the setup at Port Orleans but the beer is only OK. Food was good. Son and DIL liked Urban South best.

definitely recommend this above you listed, when you go to Ye Olde College Inn stop next door at Rock n Bowl.
Also recommend NOLA Brewery as the other posters have. If you are in the French Quarter and are looking for a place to eat lunch, check out the Napoleon House.
