Need recommendations for beach trip

I’ve surprised my wife the last few years for our anniversary and taken her on trips like Costa Rica, Broken Bow, Punta Cana, Mexico, Bahamas, etc. We are a few years away from being empty nesters, and she has always wanted a small, secluded style beach trip. I really don’t wanna travel out of the country for this one as we have 2 trips out the country already planned for this year.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a AirBNB type place that is on the beach, small, and a little secluded? We both enjoy the laid back, non touristy type places where you almost feel like time slows waaaaayyyy down. Would prefer something along the gulf of ‘Merica or the East Coast.

Look at the ‘forgotten coast’ from Mexico Beach (less of what you want) to Cedar Key. Cape San Blas, Indian Pass, St George Island, Cedar Key, etc.
I’d go with St George or Cape San Blas first. You can get a half mile of beach to yourself outside of the summer busy season.

I second the "Forgotten Coast".

That's a good recommendation. I'd also say there are lots of mountain lakes out west that have beaches without crowds. Go for a day or bring a tent. Many also have glamping tents for rent but obviously there will be other people staying nearby if theres glamping tents. You could also look into something like some of the islands around Florida, Channel Islands in California, or Puerto Rico or Hawaii where you can hike to a secluded beach

Hutchinson Island, between Stuart and Fort Pierce, FL.
Beaches in the Pacific Northwest - usually not crowded, but water is cold. Scenery and hiking make up for it.

What is this area like during the height of the busy season? Talking about the 1-2 weeks after school, and the 1-2 weeks before school starts.
Wife loves hitting the beach during this time frame, and I have been narrowing that down to beach houses off of the Gulf (we don't really do the in the water adventures), just want somewhere to post up with the kids in the sand and we can walk out about waist deep in water.
Last year we were able to satisfy everyone with trips to Oasis, but that sand in the toes feel has the wife itching to go back to the Gulf.

I've always found Navarre Beach to be one of the least touristy places on the Gulf of America. When you go over the bridge from Navarre to Navarre beach you will find a few high rise condos but if you travel west you will find just houses, especially when you get closer to Gulf Islands National Sea Shore. There aren't any restaurants, grocery stores or Walmart close, you'd have to travel back over the bridge to get there and there isn't a lot a traffic on that road the closer you get to the National Sea Shore.

I know you said you don’t wanna get out of the country, but I’d suggest Isla Holbox
You can fly directly to Cancun in less than two hours to take a quick puddle jumper over to the island, it is mostly golf carts and bicycles, super quaint and romantic
Popular spot for wealthy retirees, the restaurant scene is quite amazing, everything shuts down by 9:00 PM. Zero crime.
