- Get CityPASS for your family.
- Lincoln Park Zoo
- Wrigley Field
- Crime and mob tour
- Family walk on the 606 and/or Riverwalk
- Navy Pier (Honestly, not sure why people go to Navy Pier, but a lot of families go)
- How old are your kids? If they're young enough to want to go on a playground, Maggie Daley Park could be an option.
- Garfield Park Conservatory
- Lincoln Park Zoo
- Wrigley Field

This spring with a 2.5 and 4.5 year old we did the Chicago Go pass 5 attraction:
Sears tower
Field museum
river boat tour
Museum of science and industry (like 9 miles south of sears tower so a good trip)
Navy pier ferris wheel - didn't do anything else at Navy pier due to time and I've been there before.
We also did a game at Wrigley, and you can easily spend a day on Michigan Avenue shopping.
Lincoln park zoo is free I believe but they have a lot of side things you can pay for. That's a nice area to walk around also exploring the neighborhoods and what not.

Grant park in the summer is great with the lake on one side and imposing skyline on the other. Free concerts at the big band shell there.
Art Institute is really cool and nearby Grant Park.
