Going to Munich next week for work. Will have evenings and all day Saturday to myself.

Looking for good food and beer. Saturday for some sight seeing.

The old historic beer hall there is the Hofbrauhaus. Touristy but fun.

Going for work as well, July. Would a single overnight-two full day trip be better in Salzburg or Innsbruck?

Salzburg or Innsbruck?

I have been to both and enjoyed both, but give me Salzburg.

It will still be chilly in Bavaria, not really biergarten weather yet. Here's what I would do if I still lived there:

* Classics: Hofbrau Haus, Augustiner-Keller (sit in the cellar if you can, beer cave from the 1500's), Bamberger Haus, Max-Emmanuel-Brauerei (one of the few breweries that has IPAs), H'Ugo's (a scene), Little London (expense account), Paulaner am Knockerberg (if you are there before the Starkbierfest ends on April 6). The Viktualenmarkt is also a must for food, and has a biergarten with rotating taps.

* Clubs: P1 (P-Eins), 089, Tambosi, Helene Liebt Dich, and the classy club at the bottom of the Bayerischer Hof hotel

* Local Favorites: Killians, Ned Kelly's, The Keg, Zephyr Bar, Salon Irkutsk, Alte Ofen, James T. Hunt Bar

If the weather is warmer, the Chinese Tower biergarten will open and is awesome

Hofbrau House. Over the top but fun and great beer. Supposedly Hitlers favorite but who knows LOL...it is not the beer hall where the beer hall putshc began. Decent food, about as decent as it gets

Chinesischer Turm (Chinese Tower) - Fantastic beer garden in a fantastic park setting. Also decent food in the area.

Viktualienmarkt (Victual or Food Market) Great place to grab lunch and people watch. Not sure of hours though....LOTS of choices in food here.

Dachau on Saturday.

I say decent food because German food is pretty much all the same every were. Its very good for a week. It starts to get old after about a month LOL. Just so much pork, potatoes and sour kraut one can ingest,,,,

Looks like mid 40s and raining. It'd open, in my experience, with mid 40s and clouds but probably not if rain is likely.

If it does open though its a fantastic to enjoy beer and eat sausage and people watch....one of my favorite places on earth in June and July LOL...
