Middle March trip US

What’s a good trip in the U.S. to take in the middle of March for Spring Break? Willing to fly, so location isn’t an issue. It’ll be my spouse and three kids (9,7, and 4). Given their ages, a full blown ski trip or beach trip wouldn’t be preferred; however, would be willing to go to beach a couple days or ski a day or two — just not the entirety of the trip.

We're trying to do something in that same timeframe too. I'm burnt out on the beach, and my wife isn't wanting to do any skiing.
We were thinking about going to Chicago or NYC and doing 4-5 days. Pretty easy direct flights out of Memphis to do either. We'd just do the typical sight seeing, checking out kids museums, science and natural history museums, hitting a couple of famous restaurants, etc.
I only have one 5 year old to tend to though. Only thing that really worries me is will it still be pretty cold up there or is it comfortable?

San Antonio is great that time of year.

San Diego, or other places along the California Coast.
We went to SD and La Jolla last Mardi Gras and the weather was great.

Second San Antonio. JW Marriott Resort, Hyatt Regency Hill Country, or Hyatt Residence Club Wild Oak Ranch. Hyatt properties are close to Fiesta Texas & Sea World. JW Marriott is closer to New Braunfels and Schlitterbahn.
Disney at their ages would be great but it’ll be packed. Not sure how busy California Disney is that time of year.
Cruise out of Florida or Galveston (RCCL Oasis Class will be much cheaper than an Icon Class ship—Carnival Celebration out of Miami is great, too—MSC is the most affordable by far but the quality isn’t quite there; would recommend the World America)
SLC/Park City, UT
Gatlinburg

San Diego and include La Jolla and Dana Point (whale watching boat ride).
NYC can be a little cold still.
Ton for the kids in Southern California to do.

My vote would be San Diego. Taken our family there twice before.
San Diego is an awesome choice for mid-March because the weather is warm and sunny, but not too hot for walking around. It gives you a great mix of fun activities for a 9, 7, and 4-year-old without feeling like you are stuck at the beach the whole time. You can spend a day or two letting the kids run along the shore at La Jolla and build sandcastles, but the water will be a bit chilly for heavy swimming, which naturally keeps it from becoming a total beach-only trip.
The highlight for the kids will definitely be the world-famous San Diego Zoo. My kids loved it! It is packed with incredible animals, completely stroller-friendly for your youngest, and offers a double-decker bus tour that lets everyone rest their feet while seeing the sights. Pairing a day at the zoo with a trip to Legoland—which is perfectly geared for your children's exact ages—gives you a high-energy, memorable vacation where the kids are constantly entertained and you never have to worry about packing snow gear.
