Looking for College Station Recommendations

Well that time has finally come in my life where I am headed to aggie headquarters for a few days early March for work. I have never been to College Station before so I'm first looking for travel recommendations (fly into Houston, Austin, or CLL?), hotel recs, and food suggestions.
Based on initial glance, looks like flying into IAH is the easiest bet then driving the 1.5-2 hrs? Pain in the butt to get to from Buffalo but it is what it is.
Appreciate any and all suggestions

Houston is a hole and CS is just a smaller version. If the schedule and pricing make sense, fly into Austin. Smaller airport and better drive although a little longer. Try to extend the trip and spend some time in Austin.

Lived there for a couple of years through grad school.
Flying into IAH is a shorter drive. I always found great rates flying into CLL though.
