Hoping to fly our of Nola around March 5th and stay for four nights. Will have points to use at Marriott properties and I'm looking for suggestions on where to go.

I don't want to go back to Mexico so that is out.

Also look at flights into consideration. Some islands take up a lot of travel time and others have very convenient routesthat can have you on the beach quickly

Good point. Which islands should I avoid or look into that are easier for flights?

Ritz in Grand Cayman is ok and it's a direct flight from IAH and DFW.

There's a Ritz Reserve in Puerto Rico, with directs to San Juan.

Looks like the Marriott Beach Resort in Grand Cayman is pretty damn nice.
Seems I've narrowed down to this, Aruba, or one of the US Virgin Island locations.

I've heard Grand Cayman is very nice and clean, but lacking in the natural beauty of other islands.

Aruba is like a 4hr flight from S Florida. You could be on the beach by mid day. The Ritz is on the same main road as the airport. 10Min drive

That's great if you're originating in S. Florida.

If he's coming from New Orleans, that's a full-arse day of travel.

We flew out of Hobby in Houston at 6:50 and were in Aruba by 3 PM after a connecting flight in Orlando. Wasn't bad at all

Very nice.

I'm DFW based, so if we have to connect to the Caribbean, it's usually MIA. That airport gives me the sad. Ha.

5th night is free when you book 4 consecutive nights.

Also, you can look at SPG hotels and transfer the points there. Or just wait a few weeks when they're all merged onto the Marriott site.
