Second the Cloisters. Unique experience which is a medieval castle art exhibit with great views of the Hudson.

Absolutely have to do the 9/11 museum. Easily one of the best museums I’ve been to.

The Met was great too but it’s so big, you really have to dedicate at least half a day to it. I didn’t make it to the museum of natural history but wish I would have.

Make sure to post when you return. I travel there in a month. It’s my first trip their post COVID. Curious to hear what you thought about the city.

The Spotted Pig is always a great late lunch/drinking place. When we are near the Village, we always stop there. We also usually eat at least one night at Babbo. Very consistent and always excellent. Di palos for cheese and cured meats and walk across the street to Ferrari’s for the best pasties. If you really want to impress the misses, send her to the spa one morning. Pick up a picnic basket from a restaurant and have a late lunch picnic in Central Park.

The Spotted Pig was great, but they closed pre-COVID

The Highline in the Meatpacking District (just west of time Sq area), WTC Memorial, walk the Brooklynn Bridge.
Central Park is overrated for tourists who have back yards.

Download the "CITYMAPPER" app. My wife and I used this during the entire trip and was able to use the subway system like we lived there all our lives. It was extremely helpful in showing the fastest ways to get around. It includes buses too but the subway was by far the best way to move around. Without the app, I'm not sure how efficient our travel time would have been.

Do not waste your time going to times square or taking the bus tour, you will just sit in traffic.

Staten island was the best part of NYC to me, central park and the Metropolitan Museum was great. Unfortunately the Guggenheim was closed. We only had a weekend, longer would have been better.
