I've been here since Friday, going home tonight.

While leaving work Friday, several people asked why a bachelor party in Vegas and not just go to New Orleans (I'm from Houma).

One of my responses besides Vegas being infinitely better that New Orleans was that we had a smaller chance of being shot or robbed here.

Since Friday however, there was an attempted robbery at the Bellagio and a shooting/standoff which shut down a large part of the strip on Saturday.

Well played Vegas, well played.

How did that work?
With thousands of people in Vegas
Did they mark off places you couldn't go?
I would imagine it was pretty hard to shut down a large part of the Vegas strip on a Saturday

Traffic was shut down. CLeared out large areas of people.

My buddy was trapped at the Bellagio for like 3 hours.

Total shite show. - this was for the shooting.

For the robbery same buddy couldn't get to his room at bellagio because it was on lock down again. Poor bastard had to walk back to the Mirage and crash with us.

I wasn't even aware of the shooting and the robbery until a couple hours after it happened.

By the time we got to the strip Saturday evening(around 6:30 PM)....it was business as usual there on the strip from what I saw.

I heard that the LV SWAT team is something in itself to behold. Imagine the training those guys get.

Not bad
I didn't look at the map but I was thinking it was shorter...like 2 hours, where you could just drive up for a weekend once every 2 months or so

A lot of people still just drive up for a Vegas weekend. You can find Southwest flights from PHX to LV for really cheap as well.

Javier's was excellent. I think I ate my weight in chips and salsa before the meal. I had the fajitas and the wife had enchilada trio. Meal and service were great. Went back a second time and sat at the bar to snack on chips and salsa and apps. Also ate a Jean Georges Steakhouse in Aria. The steaks were as good as the steaks at Prime in Bellagio. Can't go wrong at either steakhouse.

Yeah by then it was cleared up.

From about 11:00- 4:30-5:00 was a different story.

It took us almost 45 minutes to get from Mirage to Top Golf with the traffic.

I held strong and didn't give in to my inner fat kid
Then my wife gets a huge cupcake in the Hershey's store in New York, New York

We saw that place before we went to dinner. We refused dessert at Javier's and all went over there instead.

It was my bday...and you know calories don't count on your bday. So I had a couple macaroons and this amazing lemon dessert. Soooo good.

Never had Fatburger, but I hear good things
I don't get the obsession with In N Out
It wasn't that good at all
