Fly into Reno 9:30am. After getting rental car and luggage should be leaving airport at 10:30. Expecting to be at South Lake Tahoe around noon. Have air Bnb in pioneer, ca (1.5 drive) from South Lake Tahoe. Going to Yosemite the next morning.

What should we do? 5-6 hrs. 2 hr boat tour, state park, marina? Me, wife, boys (11-6).
Thanks.

two options:
Rent a boat. (not sure about renting on South part of the Lake)
Hike up to Eagle Lake. Definitely on the southern end of the lake.

Take the boys bouldering at Pie Shop or up the mountain from Strawberry. Between South Lake Tahoe and Pioneer.

You can go to the nude beach part of it about 2/3 north up the lake on the east side.

Last October my wife and I stayed there and had a similar situation to yours. We went to Emerald Bay State Park for a couple of hours and hiked the trails. Absolutely breathtaking views and a good way to kill a few hours for just the cost of parking.

only about a 20 minute ride from South Lake Tahoe.

DL Bliss State Park is also nice. Has a sweet beach and some trails along the lake.

Also Sand Harbor Beach in NV on the north side is a pretty, smaller park with multiple beaches and the famous Tahoe granite boulders in the water.
