for someone who has never flown in anything better than an economy bulkhead/exit row seat.....gotta say im pumped. as someone who had paid with a debit card for everything up until like 6 months ago, this has been a truly eye opening experience

flying business on turkish from houston to istanbul (and then economy from istanbul to cappadoccia) for 90k points (total for both) through air canada. combined itinerary is going for 4150 on turksih so almost 4.5 cpp. know most people say shoot for at least 5 on long haul business redemptions but figure thats close enough for an inflexible date and location

on the return back, flying economy through turkish from amman to london. 33k points for what is essentialy $1500 after fees. just over 5 cpp on that redemption which feels like a good redemption

but that is essentially a repositiong flight for the first class booking that i made with BA to go from london to houston. know BA is considered a joke and their first class is referred to as a really nice business class and theres a chance i wont have time for the concord lounge which is where a lot of the BA first class value comes from but still hyped. 85k points and $750 for what is typically a $15k flight. over 15 cpp redemption

Congrats on the first major redemptions! It's addicting!

Your British Airways flight to Houston will have the new Club Suites in Business Class, with First being a slightly elevated seat and a much more elevated service.

British Airways Boeing 777-300 Club Suites Business Class (LHR-IAH)

We just flew Turkish from Almaty to Istanbul and had a fantastic experience! The seats are a bit outdated but the soft product is phenomenal!

Will be curious to hear your thoughts on BA F once you take the flight.

British Air is not considered a joke. Many avoid them because of the high fuel surcharge in and out of Heathrow. The service and planes are fine.

I got hit with that surcharge on my first trip to Italy. Now I transfer Avios to Iberia and fly Iberia business class to Madrid, stay overnight and then take a second flight the next day to Italy. That's if I use Avios. As long as I have a laydown seat and a pod I'm happy.

In June, I'm cashing in my Emirates miles to fly and out of Milan.

There is definitely a well known joke among the frequent flyer community around British Airways First Class being the world's best Business Class.

Now that's a good get. J is fine but getting F for less than J is a no brainer.

Didn’t realize it was 1st. So many carriers just seem to do business class for flights across the pond.

We were trying to go the qsuite route. Had followed the release schedule for months knowing the prices and when Qatar releases their flights. We were going to book our flight on Sunday. Moved the points into our account that Friday only to find out that Friday that Qatar went from off peak to peak pricing. Got WRECKED

Happy that I got to use my committed avios at the end of the day

Now trying to use what I have left over to help my parents do business class on the way back
