Bringing the dogs with us to Florida for Spring Break and our plan was to Uber or Lyft everywhere we wanted to go, however, I'm not sure there is an option on the site. I would hate to request someone and they do not want a dog in their vehicle even though both of mine are under 20 pounds.

It depends on the driver. I’ve personally never had an issue with Uber with my dog (dozens of rides), but I do live in a very dog friendly city.

Yeah, we will be staying in the Tampa area so I assume they would be dog friendly. Just had never used Uber/Lyft with the dogs.

If you are holding them on your lap, that would probably be more legit. I don't have any clue so I'll be tuning in here, although I doubt I'd ever Uber with my 70 lb retriever.

But I very much doubt they allow all dogs. I mean I wouldn't let some random ride in the back of my car with like a german shepherd or pit bull or 2.

According to Uber if you're traveling with pets you should contact your driver after they accept to let them know you have a pet. That is just a pain in the arse, especially if I'm somewhere that is loud, or with a lot of people and have spotty service.

Just text after they accept the ride. Have a friend who does that pretty frequently with her dog

You've never messaged a driver? I've done this all the time, tell them exactly where you are, what color shirt, etc.

I don't really think that's a bad policy honestly. I'm not sure Uber/ Lyft should blindly allow some drivers to accept any dog no matter what.

Actually I've only done it once when I knew Uber was picking me up from a crowded area. I think a button letting the drivers know you have a pet would be beneficial so you can contact pet friendly drivers.

Not saying it would be anything complicated or that they should allow it. Just I never really contact drivers, never had a need really.

My daughter uses Lyft with her dog, but the dog is always in one of those airline pet carriers and only weights about 15 lbs.
