How much you willing to spend on meals?Because Born and Raised is one of the most impressive meals I’ve ever had.
If you have some down time, take an Uber or drive up to La Jolla.

Prohibition is a good spot in Gaslamp for some brass music.
Yes, Prohibition kicks arse. Don’t stress over getting a reservation at Noble Experiment. It was just okay.
Cloak and Petal is a Japanese spot that’s breathtakingly gorgeous. Good place to grab cocktails.
I’ll be in San Diego for my 6th time in a few weeks, and it’s like somewhere new every time. You won’t run out of things to do.

Go to the Casbah for some good live music. Gaslamp area in Horton Plaza, hit California Cafe. Go to Coronado and hit a restaurant called Miguelos.

Go to Pop's Liquor Cabinet in the Gaslamp District. It's a tiny bar that only has seating for 12 and it doesn't open until 9 PM but they make the best drinks in San Diego. Cool little place. You can call their number and reserve a barstool. Their cocktails are amazing.

thanks everyone...seems like definites for me will be:
coronado island
la jolla beaches/bars
gas lamp multiple times to check out bars/breweries
del mar races
probably not gonna play torrey pines unfortunately. might try and get it done, but unlikely.
trying to decide on the stuff like sea world and the zoo. im not super into that stuff regardless, but some people seem to think they are absolute musts.

Granted I'm biased because I love animals, but the zoo is definitely worth checking out IMO.
It isn't like being at a zoo. There's a bus system, there's a gondola system, there's tons of interactive areas and air conditioning along the way. Plus they have some super badass animals.
My advice is to do what I learned from this board: Arrive before they open and go directly to the bus (you get 1 complimentary tour) when you get there. The animals are all fed in the morning, so they'll still be out and about and pretty active. I saw the animals better during my first tour of the day bus ride than I did for the rest of the day walking around.
