Keep an eye out. I'm supposed to be going to ATL on the 15th so I'm in the same boat. It really depends on how fast/slow the storm moves once it gets by Florida. If it gets into the gulf i can see that adding an extra day or two to the projections

I've never had to move flights before so this might be a stupid question, but would Delta allow us to change flights to say MSY->JFK->LHR instead of MSY->ATL->LHR that day?

If theres a waiver, absolutely. You keep the origin and destination the same, the connecting city can change. I'd suggest minneapolis or detroit instead of jfk actually...

$324 from sju-atl-fll on tuesday. Just get off in atl and drive back. Everything else id over $600/person LINK

Eta: the benefit of booking to ft lauderdale is that there is a 90% chance of delta adding it to their waivers. When that happens you can call in and see if an agent can change fll to msy for free!

Yes from SJU to FLL at 11:35
Then from FLL to MCO at 6:25

What's my best option for getting to Nola at this time? Just rent and take the 8-9 hour drive?
Or see if southwest can get me on the first flight out Wednesday morning?

$60 total plus luggage... LINK

I keep saying tuesday like it's two days away, this holiday on a monday if throwing me off... If you have issues tomorrow let me know

I ended up calling southwest and had them book me a flight out of Orlando to New Orleans for 5 o'clock.

It was an additional $100 but I don't care at this point. Just trying to get home. And I'll be home tomorrow!

Thanks again Cuse. I appreciate your help.

Looks like your inbound got to SJU 40 minutes early and Jetblue subbed in a larger plane than originally planned, they must be trying to get everyone off that island before Irma.

If you're at the airport, you can also try and get on the 11am SJU-FLL. There's 6 seats available

So far everything is on time. They even added an extra flight (9856) departing SJU at 4:35pm to likely take more customers off the island before tomorrow

Major update: American and Southwest have added Ft. Lauderdale and Miami to the waiver list. They've included flights now through next Monday but I expect them to extend that to next Wednesday or Thursday depending on the track. I also expect Spirit, United, and Delta to add the FL airports as well to their waivers over the next several hours to day.

Currently waiting for my 5 o'clock departure from FLL for MSY.

They just came over the intercom about possible delays due to some thunderstorms in the area. Please no.

There's some thunderstorms building just west of the airport (you can probably see them from the terminal if you look that direction) so currently 30-45 minute departure delays. Luckily your plane is already there so as long as the ramp doesn't shut down and they can't load bags on the flight then you should be okay

I'm glad you made it to Florida, looks like you were on one of the last flights that's gonna make it out of there. Jetblue is planning on operating some very early morning flights tomorrow out of San Juan and that's it until Thursday at the earliest
