How long does it take to get a passport?

I went to the Baton Rouge General Mail Facility today to get a passport. Paid for expediting the process and also overnight delivery. They said 2-3 weeks before it is delivered. Has anyone done this in BR and how long did it take?

I just got mine expedited through the post office in Prairieville. It was delivered in 2.5 weeks.

Not sure about first time, but I just renewed mine and from when I shipped it to them and received my new one it was about 2 weeks.

I renewed last spring, not expedited, and it was in my hands in 4 weeks.

you can get them same day if you drive to NOLA and have a valid reason

Expedited in December. 9 day turnaround.

I believe if you have international travel less than 2 weeks out, you can do this.

I renewed mine in 3 days back in 2013. But I remember paying an extra 300 for the service. Place was called Fastpassportcenter.com. Pretty sure I found them from a basic internet search.

Same here. About 2 weeks on renewal from date of submission. Not expedited.

I applied the Monday before thanksgiving. Recieved mine on December 5th or 6th. This was my first time to get a passport. I didn't realize they sent in your birth certificate with it. Then they mail it back to you. Not a big deal unless you need it for something inbetwen that time.

I got same day service for a trip the following week. I believe I had to pay a small fee though.

You can get a passport same day if you want to pay for it.
